Thierry Millet, new CEO Orange, sets out his agenda to take company to the next level

 Bucharest, July 9, 2009. Orange-France Telecom today announces that Thierry Millet, currently acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Orange Romania, is formally appointed to the role of full-CEO with immediate effect.

Thierry Millet has been acting-CEO since March. Previously, he was Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Orange Romania, a role he held since October 2005. Here, he headed up customer-service, marketing and sales for consumer and enterprise customers. 

Setting out his agenda, Thierry Millet CEO Orange Romania said: “Customers expect Orange to give them the best. This means superior services and competitive value for money. My priority is to use innovation to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”

He continued: “To achieve this, we will adapt our operating model. The franchise programme, launched in March, and our current online developments are examples of the kind of transformation initiatives that will shape our success, now and in the future.”

Commenting on Thierry’s confirmation as CEO, Olaf Swantee, SEVP and global leader of Orange mobile, said: “Thierry’s blend of international experience and his deep knowledge of the Romanian market made him a natural choice for CEO.  Thierry will take the company to the next level of services and performance.”
