Business Communication Solutions from Orange and Equant

Orange Romania and Equant Romania have recently concluded a commercial and technical agreement in order to provide multinational and very large companies with the best IP communication services and network solutions in Romania or worldwide.

Equant is the recognized leader in global, integrated and customized communication solutions to enable the key business processes of its customers. By interconnecting their networks for the first time in Romania, Orange and Equant provide companies with an extended IP network availability, increased number of POPs, flexibility in defining the optimal solution for the customers and national IP coverage.

This way, the large business clients are offered a complete range of communication services including mobile voice and data (GPRS/EDGE) from Orange and best IP services (IP-VPN, Internet) and network management solution from Equant.

Speaking of Orange’s partnership with Equant, Bernard Moscheni - CEO Orange Romania said: "This agreement was concluded in order to meet the high standard expectations in terms of quality and services of multinational and very large companies and also to benefit from the local France Telecom assets".

More and more companies offer their employees the possibility to work on a laptop in order to be more efficient while on the move. The problem is that the mobility of the laptop connected to the network is limited to the length of the connecting cable.

To eliminate this shortcoming, Orange offers you the Mobile Office Card solution, which includes a PC card with SIM slot and a software, facilitating the access to mobile data services. This solution grants access to the resources offered by the internal computer network, the Internet and allows e-mail communication without being connected to a fixed line or mobile phone.

The software also includes an SMS application allowing you to communicate with your friends, colleagues and partners by text messaging directly from your computer. You can send text messages to a distribution list that can include for example the field sales team in a certain area.

This connection solution is very easy to install, configure and use; no special knowledge is required.

What you have to do is install the Mobile Office Card software on your laptop (it takes only a few minutes), insert the PC card into the laptop, and you will have access to the mobile data services. If the Intranet mobile access service is already activated, you can configure the PC card so that you may access the internal computer network of your company.
Depending on access type, the PC card comes in two variants:
   Sony - Ericsson GC75 (GPRS/GSM)
   Sony - Ericsson GC79 (GPRS/GSM/WLAN)

In order to use all facilities offered by Mobile Office Card, you will have to activate on your dedicated Orange SIM card at least one GPRS offer (Office Net Access or Mobile Internet Always on) and one Data GSM offer (Mobile Internet Dial-up or Fax & Data).

The Mobile Office Card solution will be available within the Orange offer starting June 1st 2004.
