from Orange - the Monitor OfferOn April 15, 2004, Orange launched the Monitor offer, allowing remote monitoring of your house or any other important location not equipped with a professional surveillance system.
The Monitor offer includes a Nokia Observation Camera, a dedicated SIM card and a monthly subscription including SMS, MMS and voice services.
The camera is located within the area requiring surveillance and captures images and sounds in its vecinity, being provided with motion sensor, temperature sensor and microphone. When motion is detected or when the temperature exceeds the limits preset by the client, the camera can send an alert text message directly on your mobile phone, followed by a multimedia message together with the captured image. The user can also request an image from the camera through SMS. Thus, the camera can be located in places such as your house, flat, garage, warehouses and even offices.
The user can define a master user telephone number, which may send the camera free of charge configuration and command text messages.
The price of the camera is 550 USD.

monthly subscription: 6 USD - the subscription
includes 10 multimedia messages and 50 text messages per month
tariff per text message sent by the camera (in addition to those included
in the subscription): 0.05 USD/text message
tariff per multimedia message sent by the camera (in addition to those included
in the subscription): 0.14 USD/multimedia message
change of the master user telephone number: first time is free of charge,

answer In between a mobile phone and
a PDA-type device, Orange SPV combines the utility of an advanced
generation mobile phone with the possibility to send e-mails and text
messages, to browse the WEB, to listen to music and many other PDA-specific
functions.
The package of default programs (contacts, calendar, tasks) allows storing a large quantity of information structured similarly to those to be found in "desktop" computers. The Pocket PC 2003 operation system makes it compatible and inter-connectable with a "desktop" computer through the ActivSync program, supplied free of charge by Microsoft. This inter-operability allows permanent synchronization of Orange SPV phone with the desktop PC.
Equipped with a TFT screen of considerable size (176 x 220) and having not less than 65000 colours, Orange SPV has on the first page text shortcuts to all programs and information.
The first page is improved in order to notify the user about the next meetings on the agenda, the number of text and multimedia messages received and the number of missed calls.
Orange SPV is provided with a 64 MB "flash" memory, having a large storing space for both personal information and additional programs that can be further installed. Equipped with an "open" operation system, it benefits from a large range of programs available on the Internet or developed on demand by software companies.
Windows Media Player is part of the pre-installed program package, which extends Orange SPV’s capabilities by transforming it into a portable music source for MP3, WMA, WAV-type files. The stereo headphones the phone is supplied with, not only functions as "hands free" option, but also enables the use of SPV as a proper "Walkman". Orange SPV is equipped with a memory extension compatible with both MMC and SD memory cards, with a storing space between 8 MB and 256 MB, so that the music files should not use the free phone memory.
