BroadbandStarting July, a new data transport service is available: Wirefree Broadband, launched for the first time in Romania by Orange. It offers access to Internet services on radio support, at speeds superior to dial-up connections and offering mobility inside the user’s home or office.
The technology used is Wireless IP, a radio technology in 3.5 GHz licensed band, allowing within the covered area bandwidths up to 512 Kbps.
Wirefree Broadband service ensures Internet connections in residential areas or industrial parks, at very high speeds and accessible prices.
The first location with Wirefree Broadband coverage is Pipera - Iancu Nicolae area (for detailed map, please click here - opens in a new window).
The offer includes three subscription alternatives, depending on the Internet access bandwidth:

Moreover, the number of e-mail accounts and their available storage space together with the
WEB hosting space can be supplemented with 10 MB at a time.
You will receive upon subscription the Wireless IP radio modem from Orange. The modem is connected to the computer, the operating system is configured and you have instant access to the Internet.

Zone and which are its advantages?
answer Wirefree™ Zone service allows you to connect
to broadband Internet at high speed while you are in one of the public
places having Orange WLAN coverage.
All you need is a laptop, a PCMCIA card with WLAN and an access account.
The main advantage of this service is its high connection speed. Moreover, you have freedom of movement within the covered area – with
Wirefree™ Zone you can access Internet irrespective of location: cafe-bar, restaurant or conference room.
If your company’s network is interconnected with an Orange VPN, Wirefree™ Zone offers you easy access to its resources.
Another advantage with a fast data connection is that you are charged depending on the account validity period (24, 48 or 72 consecutive hours after activation) and not based on the transferred data volume.
The service is available in Bucharest, in the locations where Orange Romania has WLAN coverage:
