Romania is of key strategic importance as we maximise the opportunities of a growing market-place. Bernard has achieved excellent results in a short space of time and Orange Romania will be looking to build on this success even further under Richard’s leadership.
We wish them both every success in their new roles.”
Mid October, Orange will be launching for the first time in Romania EDGE, a technology that brings significantly increased mobile data transfer speed.
EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution) is an evolution technology of the existent GSM/GPRS network, meant to increase mobile data services quality through increased speed of transmission: Intranet/Internet mobile access, sending/receiving e-mails with attachments, WAP access.
Offering a three times faster transmission rate than the one reached by GPRS at this moment, EDGE will be available at launching in Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj Napoca and Brasov, and the coverage will be then continuously extended.
EDGE will not replace the existent GPRS network; these two technologies will work simultaneously. The user will be automatically connected to one of the two functioning networks, depending on the handset type (EDGE or GPRS) and the coverage area.
Since every company has specific needs, Orange offers for the first time the possibility to personalize the mobile data offer through options that can be activated over the Office Net Access or Mobile Internet Always-on mobile data service plans:
Intranet Unlimited - unlimited mobile access to the company’s internal computer network, on the basis of a monthly fee on SIM. Thus, users can benefit from remote access to internal network resources (e-mail account, electronic documents, files, SFA applications, M2M etc.), without constraints such as access time or the amount of information transferred .
Day Transfer - unlimited mobile access to Internet, every day from 08:00 to 20:00, based on monthly subscription. During daytime users can access Internet through a permanent connection, while the amount of transferred information is no longer significant.
Also, users may benefit from unlimited access to Internet for limited periods of time by choosing the options: Happy Sunday, Open Weekend, Night Addict or WAP Unlimited.
Mobile Office Card EDGE
Mobile Office Card offers you the possibility to use the laptop with maximum effectiveness outside your office as well, without being limited by a network or Internet connection line. Mobile Office Card from Orange is easy to install, configurate and use.
