Microsoft and Orange launched in Romania Orange SPV C500 Smartphone

In December 2004, the Romanian subsidiaries of Microsoft and Orange announced the launch in the Romanian market of the SPV (Sound, Pictures, Video) C500 Smartphone, part of the Orange Signature phones family, endowed with the Romanian version of the Microsoft Windows Mobile® operating system.

Microsoft Windows Mobile® for Smartphone is a revolutionary software platform for mobile phones, allowing an enhanced experience compared to voice communication. Smartphone technology allows a more efficient communication thanks to an innovative solution.

The Orange SPV C500 is based on Smartphone technology and is suitable for business and entertainment applications. Its 65 000 colors screen displays menu icons with direct access to different applications, MMS, games, movies and high speed Internet. The operation system is Windows Mobile 2003, second edition. Pocket Outlook, Pocket Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, MSN Messenger and other advanced applications are all available on this phone.

SPV C500, the smallest Smartphone in the world, offers a unique experience provided by a range of applications and services available only through Orange Signature:
   Back-Up: allows customers to store their personal and professional data (contacts, calendar etc.) on the Orange network
   Help: a user guide for some of the phone basic functions
   Homescreen: a unique design of the main screen, allowing instant access to key services

Packet Video Player is also pre-installed, allowing access to video services (via GPRS streaming). SPV C500 provides a unique multimedia experience through both specific applications and the simple and intuitive user interface architecture.

SPV C500 is available only in Orange network.
