In the first months of the next year, Orange will launch for the first time in the Romanian market the Fleet tracking service that allows the location of a company’s mobile phone fleets on Romania map.

The Fleet tracking service allows the company’s authorised person the access to personalised information about the location and the itinerary of the company’s Orange mobile phone user or group of users.

The Fleet tracking service addresses the managers of companies in the field of: transportation, sales, distribution, logistics, emergency interventions etc, that need to permanently follow the location of their field personnel.

The benefits of using this service are the increase of productivity and decrease of communication costs with field employees: drivers, distribution and intervention agents. Being able to track the position of a mobile phone in the field allows you to know at any time where the goods distribution trucks are, or where the intervention agents are located and their mission length, as well as if the goods are delivered in due time at the points of sales.

how it works

The tracking is made through a text message sent to mobile phones, and they answer also through a text message that contains information about the name of the cell where the phone is registered in that moment. These data are laid over the map of that area and the resulting information is made available to the authorised person through a web interface. As it records and stores all information about previous localisations, the application offers you the possibility to visualise the itinerary of a mobile phone user within a time interval.

The person who is authorised to use the service can access the web interface through a secure connection based on a user name and a password. With this interface, the authorised person can locate instantly any mobile phone registered on the tracking list, can define mobile users groups that can be located automatically with a pre-established frequency in a time interval and can see the tracking reports and statistics.

easy to activate, simple to use

No additional equipments or specific application development are needed in order to activate and use this service. The tracking is performed based only on the mobile terminal and the active phone number. Orange makes available free of charge the web application, with secured access to customer account, and the list of mobile phones that will be tracked.
