Interview with Mrs. Rodica Cazangiu, Sales Director at Orange Romania:

Which is the Orange Sales department’s strategy in 2003?

For Orange, the first priority is represented by the customers and by the quality of the services we offer. Because each customer’s individual experience has to be positive, one of our strategic directions is represented by the increase of the direct contact places between Orange and its customers. Thus, in 2003 we intend to extend the chain of Orange shops in four important cities in Romania, bringing some extra services on the local markets. On the 1st of June we opened in Europe House Complex in Bucharest a customer-dedicated center for the companies with large communication needs. And, in order to make it as simple as possible for our existing and potential customers, we have dedicated teams that will contact you at the companies’ headquarters in order to explain our offers.

In order to sustain the Orange offer for voice services and solutions for voice and data, both fix and mobile, we have a specialized team working within the sales department, with knowledge of marketing, technical field and sales, being able to understand the specific communication needs of the corporate customers and to suggest “tailored” solutions for each type of business.
Last, but not least, another part of the sales strategy is to bring the services and the Orange brand as close as possible to the customers, by extending the commercial coverage all over the country. In this respect, we rely on well-selected partners that understand the values we promote and want to join us on long term.

Could you please explain what are the concrete ways of approaching the target public?

Our marketing services and an adequate communication, together with the specialized sales team cooperate to provide well-defined products and commercial offers, adapted to the requirements of a certain public segment. It may seem a classical recipe, but, irrespective of the approached segment, the way we communicate is very important for Orange.

The way our sales representatives contact the customers and Orange partners respects the brand’s values. Being Orange means being direct and honest when communicating with people, means innovation and dynamism, as well as an open and friendly attitude.

How has your career evolved at Orange?

I have been working for the company since 1997 and in the field of mobile telephony since 1992, when it came as something new in Romania. I have lived with Orange all the important events and the great emotions of the company. My career has evolved with the company with challenges, objectives to fulfil, new situations to manage.

I was assigned as a Sales Director in November 2000 and I took part in the extraordinary experience of passing to the new Orange brand in 2002, maybe one of the most interesting and complex professional experiences in my entire career. Adopting the Orange brand meant not only a change of appearance, but also a change in the internal organization and structure of the services and offer, in the manner of communication. But, first of all, it meant for all of us a new way of thinking, the beginning of a change in mentality, based on the clear values of the brand. I hope that we are managing to transmit in the best way the Orange spirit to our customers and I really trust the Orange team of experts in doing this. Because the communication between people is what matters for us in the first place. .

Dedicated Internet Access

The new Orange service, Dedicated Internet Access, completes our offer of data services. Dedicated access does not need dial-up, does not charge the telephone bill and does not jam a telephone line during Internet connection and allowing permanent Internet access, by using a dedicated connection.

The Dedicated Internet Access allows some specific applications to be implemented, helping to increase the company’s efficiency:
   e-mail,
   personal website,
   implementation of internet/extranet solutions,
   e-commerce etc.

the Dedicated Internet Access Service offered by Orange allows you to access the Internet worldwide, by using France Telecom Long Distance network - Open Transit Internet (OTI)
we can connect your headquarters to the Internet, whatever your location might be, as we have national Internet coverage
the Dedicated Internet Access Service offered by Orange guarantees an excellent quality, due to its high availability (99.95%) and other specific parameters
the Internet connection is permanently monitored (24 hours per day, seven days per week)
for the permanent supervising of the service quality, each Orange customer will have access to, weekly, monthly and annual reports on Internet traffic
you can either choose a dedicated line or share this line with up to three Orange customers. Should you want to increase the traffic volume, you will only have to file an application and the upgrade will be made as soon as possible


technical description
The customer may be connected to the Internet through SDH network (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy), or by using the PDH network (Plesynchronous Digital Hierarchy), or the LMDS technology (Local Multipoint Distribution Service). These “local loop” connection solutions are characterized by:
   operating in licensed bands
   assigning guaranteed band widths, symmetrical or asymmetrical, as 64 kbps multiples
   dynamic assigning of guaranteed band width

Orange puts at the customer’s disposal an experienced team, ready to offer quickly the best solutions to implement the service, as well as the necessary equipment, in order to make sure the service is functioning well.


charging principles
Depending on the chosen technical solution, Orange will charge you a tax for the service installation and a monthly fee for the service usage.
The equipment for connection is put at your disposal in loaning system.

The Dedicated Internet Access Service is available in any Orange shop and partners network, located in important cities, county towns: Alba-Iulia, Arad, Bac`u, Baia-Mare, Bistri]a, Boto[ani, Br`ila, Bra[ov, Bucure[ti, Buz`u, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Constan]a, Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Foc[ani, Gala]i, Giurgiu, Ia[i, Miercurea-Ciuc, Oradea, Piatra-Neam], Pite[ti, Ploie[ti, Râmnicu-Vâlcea, Satu-Mare, Sfântul Gheorghe, Sibiu, Slatina, Suceava, Târgovi[te, Târgu-Mure[, Timi[oara, Tulcea.
