Therefore Orange offers you a new service, Internet Mobile Access that eliminates the dependence on fixed locations for the Internet access. Everything is very simple, because you can access the Net whenever and wherever you are, by using your mobile phone, having a complete liberty of movement.

connections
Depending on the technology used, the connection to the Internet can be made in two ways: GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) or CSD (Circuit Switched Data).

The connection on GPRS support is an IP (Internet Protocol) connection type, which offers you a set of advantages:
   high speed of navigation
   instant connection to the Internet, the possibility of permanent connection to the Internet
   charging made according to the traffic volume, not to the connection duration
   the possibility to use the GPRS Accelerator – increase of navigation speed and decrease of costs

The connection on CSD support is a dial-up connection type and it will enable you to navigate on the Internet at a speed of 9600 bps.


charging principles
The charging for the Internet access varies depending on the technology used for connection (GPRS/CSD).

Connecting via GPRS technology:
   the charging is made according to the traffic volume
   the charging unit is the Kilo Byte (KB) 1 KB=1024 Bytes, 1 MB=1024 KB, 1 Byte=8 bits

Connecting via CSD technology:
   the charging is made according to the connection duration
   the charging unit: the first minute is indivisible; starting with the second minute the charge is per second

Orange Group signed a contract with the Internet service Division of Microsoft, through which the Hotmail e-mails and MSN Messaging texts can be sent to the users’ phones as text messages (SMS). This service will be also launched in Eastern Europe where Orange has branches, including Romania.
