The main benefit of the WAP Access service is that it offers you a large resource of information directly on your mobile phone.

The access to WAP means the right to use the specialised server called
"WAP Gateway" of Orange Romania.
The role of this server is to translate the information Short in WML
(Wireless Meta Language), typical for the WAP protocol, into information
that the navigator included in the mobile phone can display on the screen.
The WAP connection can be made in 2 ways, depending on the technology you are using: CSD (Circuit Switched Data) or EDGE / GPRS.
The connection on CSD support is a dial-up connection type made by dialling the short number 544.
Function of the handset type WAP 1.0 or WAP 2.0 settings will be used.

For roaming, the number to dial is +40 744 945 440.
You will have to set your user name following your own phone number
such as 4074x mmm mmm and you will have to personalise your password.
The connection on EDGE / GPRS support is an IP(Internet Protocol)
connection made by accessing the corresponding APN (Access Point Name).
The authentication is automatic with no other settings necessary.
The transfer speed for the packages is different depending on the direction of transfer - from phone to network or from network to phone. It depends on the phone's features and the radio conditions at the point where the connection is made.

usage
The WAP Access service allows the navigation on the WAP sites around
the world (as long as they are public) and it also offers the necessary
support for a company to develop, directly or by partnership, dedicated
applications accessible on the mobile phone.
The access to these applications can managed by Orange Romania because
it can be given only to the users validated by the company, if requested.
charges
The charge for the WAP Access service varies depending on the technology you choose for connection (CSD / EDGE / GPRS).
Connecting via CSD technology:
- the charging is made according to the connection duration
- the charging unit: the first minute is indivisible while starting with the second minute the charge is per second
Connecting via EDGE / GPRS technology:
- the charging is made according to the traffic volume
- the charging unit is the KB (Kilo Byte): 1 KB=1024 Byte, 1 MB=1024 KB, 1 Byte=8 bits
availability
The service is available in CSD option with the Fax&Data and Mobile Internet Dial-up packages. The EDGE / GPRS option is available with the Mobile Internet Always-on and OfficeNet Access packages and their corresponding charges.
