technical description

The VPN services cover the communication needs within a company, offering solutions for data transmissions between the company's offices and mobile users or business partners.

Orange offers the following VPN services:

  • Intranet/Extranet VPN
  • Remote VPN

 

For Intranet/Extranet VPN services, the client's offices are connected to Orange data communication network through BWA solution (Broadband Wireless Access) allowing bandwidths up to 1,5 Mbps. BWA is a local loop solution using 3,5 GHz licensed frequencies for communication.
The Remote VPN users can connect to the company's Intranet through multiple access technologies such as 3G / EDGE / GPRS, dial-up using fixed or mobile phone lines (CSD), access from public hot-spots.

The data communication inside the VPN is secured using the following mechanisms:

  • encryption (by using certain algorithms, it assures data confidentiality)
  • authentication (it assures data integrity and checks the sender's identity)
  • tunneling (it assures confidentiality for data sent using the public infrastructure)

 

The Orange specialists and the approved subcontractors implement these solutions. For VPN services, Orange offers its clients both the local loop and the customer premises equipment. VPN services run over the multi-service Orange backbone, with coverage all over Romania.

VPN services address companies that offer access to the corporate Intranet to mobile employees, to those working in remote offices and to business partners, suppliers, clients. VPN services are the ideal support for data and video transmissions, Internet applications, teleconferences, databases or stocks applications, on-line access to the company's Intranet, as well as the possibility to use various applications and manage software interfaces.

charging principles

Depending on the chosen technical solution, Orange will charge the local loop installation and the configuration of the client's equipment, will charge a monthly fee for using the equipment, the VPN service fee, the management and maintenance fee, other services with added value.
Special works, determined by specific topology, can have as a result additional installation costs, to be detailed after the feasibility study drawing up.
