With Multimedia Messages you can send and receive color photos or animated images, accompanied by text and sounds. You can take a picture with your mobile phone, then you can add sound and text to it.

You can write text messages by up to 15 times longer than an SMS.

how does it work

To create, send and receive multimedia messages, you need two things:

  •  you need a multimedia compatible handset that has the necessary settings, preferably with an attached or built-in camera,
  •  and to activate the Multimedia Messaging service

If you wish to keep more photos than your phone can store, we offer you Your Album.

how much does it cost?

to national numbers

Multimedia messages sent from your phone or from your Album cost 14 euro cents/message.

Your Album costs 0,50 EUR for a period of 6 months, with 2 megabytes storage.
Incoming messages from another user of the service are free of charge.

You can also choose one of the following multimedia packages, >no matter what Orange service plan you're using:

  •  with 20 multimedia messages included per month, at the price of 2 EUR.
    When you have used up the 20 messages in the package, the tariff remains at 10 euro cents/message.
  •  or with 50 multimedia messages included per month, at the price of 4,5 EUR.
    When you have used up the 50 messages in the package, the tariff remains at 9 euro cents/message.

to international numbers

When you send a multimedia message to a customer of a foreign network while you’re in Romania, the charge is 0.50 EUR.

Multimedia messages can be sent to other international destinations that aren't on the Orange Romania agreed partner list. The recipient will be notified via a text message in Romanian that they have received a multimedia message from you and that they can access it using the codes received in the message. The message will be charged at the price of 0.14 EUR, the same as a multimedia message to a national number.

Charges exclude VAT.

You can use Multimedia Messages if you have

  • an Orange service plan or
  • an Orange PrePay card

You can activate the Multimedia Message calling free of charge Self Care at *100#, Select option, or Customer Service at 411/444.
You can activate Your Album by calling Customer Service at 411/444.
