Orange supports you in your way to success and provides you with the services of a "permanent assistant": whenever you are not available, it records all your incoming messages, notifies you regarding such messages, and then accurately plays them.

We are talking about the Voice Mail, a service with a wide range of features, which can be customized according to your communication needs.

In case you cannot answer your Orange phone, if it is switched off or you are outside the coverage area, you will no longer loose the calls you would have otherwise received.

Under any such circumstances, as well as in case you choose to divert all your incoming calls or only those you cannot answer because you are already on the phone, your voice mailbox will take over the messages (voice or fax) from your callers and will record them.

The moment you become available, you are notified regarding the new messages.

You can either listen to your voice messages, save or delete them, you can directly call the sender's phone number or you can transfer the message to another voice mailbox.

The fax messages can be printed or transferred.

  • Also, there is a series of parameters you can set from the very first call to your mailbox and that can be further modified:
  • the password,
  • the customized greeting messages (normal, busy or long absence),
  • the notification manner (voice or text messages),
  • enabling / disabling the NonStop service and
  • setting the language (Romanian or English).

At the same time, you can set the default fax number used for transferring the received fax messages.

how does it work

Call the short number 555 from your Orange phone and you directly access your mailbox!

From any other phone - fix or mobile, call 0744 94 5550 and you can choose between Romanian and English, or directly choose the language by dialing

  • 0744 94 5551 for Romanian and
  • 0744 94 5552 for English.

If you call the long access numbers, you have to enter the number of your mailbox (namely your Orange number) and then, for identification purposes, the password.

If you call 0744 94 5550 from your own mobile phone that has an active mailbox within the Orange network, you will no longer be requested to enter the phone number and the password.
You will enter directly the consultation session - the same behavior as 555.

In the mailbox menu you have the following options:

  • listen to the received messages (press 1 from the Main Menu),
  • change the mailbox's settings (press 2 from the Main Menu),
  • send a voice message (press 3 from the Main Menu) or
  • print all the new fax messages (press 4 from the Main Menu)

Your voicemail inbox can store up to 45 voicemail messages, equivalent to 60 minutes of voicemail and 25 pages of faxes.

how much does it cost?

Retrieving messages by calling 555 and notifications are free of charge.
Retrieving messages by dialing 0744 94 5550, 0744 94 5551 or 0744 94 5552 - is charged as a regular call within the network.

The call made to the sender of a voice message is charged as regular call depending on the destination.
Sending a recorded voice message to another mailbox is charged with 0.05 EUR.
Transferring a message (voice or fax) to another mailbox is charged with 0.05 EUR.
Transferring a fax to another phone number (other than the number of an Orange mailbox) is charged as a fax call.

While roaming,
Each call to your Voice Mail will be charged as an international roaming call to Romania.
If you have activated the option that conditionally diverts your calls to your Voice Mail and your Orange phone is busy, you cannot answer or you are located outside the coverage area, then your incoming calls will divert back to Romania. In this case, you will have to pay the cost of two international calls as follows: an international incoming call from Romania and an international Roaming call to Romania.
The before mentioned situation also occurs when you disconnect your Orange phone in an area that has no coverage. We recommend you that, prior to disconnecting your phone, you make sure that you are registered in the network.
