come to the largest mobile network in Romania
Come to Orange and get all the rewards from our new offer while keeping your phone number.
If you’re a pay-monthly or top-up card customer of another network, come to an Orange shop or to any Orange partner to take advantage of special offers from Orange. To keep your mobile number, fill out a number portability request in-store and within 9 days your number will be ported to the Orange network without requiring you to come back to the shop. During this time, you’ll receive porting status text message updates. You can select the time interval when you’d like your number to be ported, anytime between the seventh and the ninth working day after making your request.
how the porting process takes place
For your number, you can select a service plan or an Orange PrePay card. If you sign up, you’ll receive all the rewards of our current offer and you can select from a varied range of mobiles at special prices. In addition, when making your porting request you’ll receive an Orange SIM card with another, provisional phone number, giving you access to all Orange services, which you can use until your number is ported.
To use your phone number with an Orange service plan, you’ll need to sign a new service agreement and have some documents on hand. If the phone number you’d like to have ported to the Orange network corresponds to a service plan with another network, the porting request implies the cancellation of your previous subscription, according to its cancellation clauses. In this case, when signing up you'll need to bring with you the latest invoice associated with your phone number.
If you select Orange PrePay, you’ll have to show the SIM card corresponding to the phone number you’d like to port to the Orange network and an identity document. In addition, you’ll have to buy a PrePay card with a provisional Orange SIM and number.
Once the porting process is complete, the provisional number will be replaced automatically with the ported number, on the same Orange SIM card, and you’ll receive a confirmation text message. From then on, you won’t be able to use the old SIM card from your previous carrier.
After receiving your porting request, Orange Romania will make the necessary arrangements to port your phone number and will keep you updated via text messages. As a result, you'll receive a message within 5 days telling you the exact time of porting, followed by a reminder 24 hours before porting and a confirmation message once the porting process has been completed successfully. The first two messages will be sent both to your provisional Orange number and to the number about to be ported, while the latter will be sent to the number ported to the Orange network. At the time of porting, your Orange SIM card must be in your mobile in order to avoid service interruption.
how much it costs
As a special offer, there are currently no charges for porting numbers to the Orange network.
Porting a number is charged 4 EUR excluding VAT when moving a service plan. If you select Orange PrePay, porting is free for the first two numbers. Starting with the third number, a charge of 6 EUR excluding VAT applies regardless of the time passed between porting requests.
information on ported numbers
You can find out here if a phone number has been ported by calling 200 or *100#, free of charge, or by accessing Orange World from your mobile. In addition, whenever you call a ported Orange number, you’ll hear a warning signal before the ring tone. Calls to Orange numbers ported to other networks are charged as calls to other networks, according to your service plan or charge plan. Orange charges apply when calling numbers ported to the Orange network.
what you need to know
A pay-monthly customer may request porting for one number, for several individual numbers or for a batch of numbers.
Only the Standard plan is available for the provisional number associated with Orange PrePay cards and this cannot be changed, nor can options be added to it. After porting, your number gives you access to all charge plans and options available with the PrePay service. If porting fails, the PrePay package can’t be refunded.
A favourite Orange number registered on another Orange customer’s the list of favourite numbers will be deleted from the list if the number is ported to another network.
Your porting request can be cancelled at the shop where it was made. There, you’ll fill out a porting cancellation request, which must be made at least 24 hours before porting time.
porting Orange numbers to other networks
An Orange PrePay number can be ported to another network only if calls have been made to and received from that number. Existing credit, special offers and other rewards are lost when porting Orange PrePay numbers.
When porting Orange pay-monthly numbers, the Orange service agreement will be terminated when the porting process is complete, according to cancellation clauses.
general information on portability
Portability is possible for geographical (fixed) and non-geographical numbers (mobile or special numbers), following a porting request. The following categories of numbers can be ported to the Orange network:
