Virtual Private Networks (IP-VPN)

Orange data communication offer extends with a new service, Virtual Private Network IP-VPN, with its three components: Intranet VPN, Extranet VPN and Remote VPN. This service represents an affordable, reliable and secure solution for data communication. IP-VPN allows you to connect remote locations, business partners and mobile employees to the company’s Intranet using the Orange backbone infrastructure.

For the Intranet VPN and Extranet VPN, your company locations are connected to the Orange data communication network through the WLAN solution (Wireless Local Area Network). WLAN represents a local loop solution using free-band frequencies equipment.

The Remote VPN mobile users connect to the company Intranet using different access technologies, like GPRS, dial-up on fixed or mobile line (CSD) or access from public hot-spots that benefit from radio wireless coverage.

Data transmission with IP-VPN is secured through the following mechanisms:
   Encoding (ensures the confidentiality of data according to certain algorithms)
   Authentication (guaranties the integrity of data and checks the emitor’s identity)
   Tunelling (ensures the confidentiality of the data transmitted on the public infrastructure)

The presented solutions are installed by the Orange specialists and the service is activated instantly. For the IP-VPN services, Orange provides both the equipment necessary for the local loop and the routers on a rental basis. The IP-VPN services use the multi-service Orange infrastructure as a support and have a national coverage.

The IP-VPN services are the ideal support for data or video transmission, Internet applications, teleconferences, data applications, on-line access to the company’s Intranet.
They also allow running different applications and softwares for administrating and monitoring your company’s activity.


Wireless LAN -Wirefree™ Zone

Wirefree™ Zone Service provides you the possibility to access Internet when you are in public spots (hotels, airports, conference centers, etc.), with a radio wirefree coverage.

Wirefree™ Zone is a data communication service of up to 11 Mbps bandwidth, based on the Wireless LAN technology. The service provides data transport at a speed superior to the dial-up communication, consisting of a secure infrastructure that provides access to a private network or to the Internet. This infrastructure is connected to the Orange network and allows you to access private networks already interconnected with Orange Romania.

In order to access this service you need to be in a Wirefree™ covered area and to have a laptop and a PCMCIA W-LAN card.

The Wirefree™ Zone Service offers you the following advantages:
   superior connection to Internet (speed up to 11 Mbps)
   possibility to communicate between two computers equipped with cards in a wirefree covered zone
   you can access your company Intranet, provided it is interconnected with the Orange Romania Network

Wirefree™ Zone usage
The location’s administrator is the one that offers you access to the Wirefree™ Zone. All you need to do is to contact a representative of the location’s administration to provide you the access and the necessary equipment (W-LAN card).

The access to the Wirefree™ Zone can be obtained for a fixed price, established for 24 hours by the location’s administrator, regardless the quantity of information transferred.

The Wirefree™ Zone is available at the World Trade Center - in the conference area, Sofitel’s ground floor and World Trade Plaza - Bucharest.
